ABOUT

Kathleen Kinsella, RGN, MBA

A Registered nurse and UCD Smurfit MBA graduate, I have over 35 years’ experience in both private and public sectors of the Healthcare industry in Ireland. I have qualified as the first Ireland based licenced Menopause in the Workplace trainer with Henpicked™ UK and have also completed Principles & Practice of Menopause Care (PPMC) course with British Menopause Society and Diploma Women’s Health Royal College of Physicians Ireland.

I also work as Honorary Senior lecturer (School of Nursing), thesis supervisor with The Institude of Leadership and is a Fellow and Honorary Associate (Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery) at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

My interest in this sector was sparked by a news article about a UK Government initiative to retain older people in the workplace a few years ago. While the title was a little off putting as I don’t consider myself “old,” the statistics about the impact of menopause were startling and that started my menopause awareness in the workplace journey. From both personal and professional experience, I understand the impact that menopause can have and how it can affect both performance and retention of staff. So, I set about starting and contributing to the menopause workplace awareness conversation… and here we are!
